Having taught computer technology at the middle school level for over a decade now, John Kelsey has seen the computer education field develop from an interesting elective class, to a life skill needed to survive in today’s global economy. Literacy and math have been the buzz curricular areas for many years, as is evidenced by our state standard tests. But, computer literacy is quickly becoming a skill with as much importance as reading literacy. Just as I can not imagine a college student succeeding with little or no reading skills, the same goes for computer skills.
